Mondex Corporation, a leader in research, advocacy, and restitution, is currently seeking a full-time Provenance Researcher based in Austria, to add to its international team of historians, art provenance researchers and legal experts.  Working together seamlessly, we help clients worldwide to recover works of art looted during conflict periods, in particular the Second World War.

The Provenance Researcher would assist our team on various provenance research projects in Switzerland, regarding looted works of art and including conducting archival research, analysing archival materials, contributing to the maintenance and development of internal databases related to provenance research as well as scanning literature.

Required skills, qualifications and availability:

• MA in Art History
• Excellent verbal and written skills in German (mother tongue)
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English (professional level)
• Reading skills in French are an asset
• Relevant experience in provenance research
• Relevant experience in archival and library research
• Broad knowledge of 15th to 20th century European art
• Excellent research and analytical skills
• Very proficient computer skills
• Ability to work independently
• Team player
• Available to frequently travel for work mainly to Switzerland but also other locations in Europe
• Available 32-40 hours per week
